BENAPOLE, JASHORE, Sept 26: Import and export operations through the land port will remain suspended for six consecutive days from September 28 to October 3 due to Durga Puja.
However, customs operations, cargo handling, and cross-border travel for passport holders will continue as usual during this period, officials confirmed.
The temporary suspension is being implemented in coordination with India's Petrapole Land Port, which will also remain closed for trade during the same period. The decision was communicated through official correspondence between clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents on both sides.
Md. Emdadul Haque Lata, General Secretary of the Benapole C&F Agents Association, said Indian agents had notified them of the trade suspension from September 28 to October 2 in observance of Durga Puja.
Benapole Immigration Police Officer-in-Charge Ilias Hossain Munshi confirmed that passport-based passenger travel between the two countries will continue as usual during the suspension period.
