RAJBARI, Sept 25: An orientation workshop for administrators was held with the participation of scouts and girl guides on the occasion of the vaccination campaign to protect against typhoid fever.
This workshop was held on Thursday morning under the joint arrangement of the Rajbari District Administration and the District Information Office.
The workshop was organized under the project 'Awareness-raising promotional activities for child, adolescent, and women development'.
The meeting, chaired by Additional District Administrator (Revenue) Tarfi Ul Hasan, was attended by Rajbari District Administrator Sultana Akhtar as the chief guest, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Sohail Shaikh, District Primary Education Officer Md. Tabbir Rahman, District Information Officer Roksana Islam, and Secretary of the Rajbari District Branch of Bangladesh Scouts Md. Nazmul Hasan.
Speaking as the chief guest at the workshop, he said, approximately 313,000 children in the district will be vaccinated to protect them from typhoid fever.
Typhoid fever is a severe waterborne disease. It can be prevented by adopting a lifestyle that includes consuming safe water and hygienic food, along with timely vaccination.
He said, 'We believe that scouts and girl guides can play a pioneering role in creating awareness in society'.
Scouts can work as a force among students. Therefore, they have been involved to ensure the successful implementation of the vaccination programme.
