Natore is all set to welcome Goddess Durga in a grand yet peaceful manner, as the district prepares for Sharadiya Durga Puja at 368 mandaps spread across its seven upazilas.

Decorations are in their final stages and the air is filled with excitement and devotion.

To ensure the celebrations proceed smoothly and safely, district authorities and law enforcement have taken comprehensive security measures.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Tarikul Islam stated that a special security plan has been implemented to maintain peace throughout the festivities.

Strict monitoring will be carried out at 69 key mandaps, while police and Ansar personnel will be deployed at every puja venue.

In a recent coordination meeting with leaders of District Puja Celebration Council and Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council, officials assured that additional patrols by the Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be intensified during the festival. These mobile patrol units will work in the field to ensure quick response to any potential issues.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen reaffirmed that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place to support a peaceful celebration.

She emphasized the administration’s readiness to maintain a safe environment at every mandap.

The upazila-wise distribution of puja mandaps is as follows: Natore Sadar 78, Singra 85, Bagatipara 27, Lalpur 41, Gurudaspur 33, Naldanga 58 and Baraigram 46.

To further strengthen security, law enforcement has increased intelligence surveillance and strict guidelines have been issued to complete idol immersion ceremonies by 7 PM.

Additional Police Superintendent (Admin and Finance) Md. Iftekhar Alam, Additional Police Superintendent (Baraigram Circle) Shovon Chandra and top leaders from district and upazila-level puja committees attended the coordination meeting.

Puja organizers also sought continued cooperation from the police in addressing any logistical or safety concerns.

Residents across Natore are hopeful that this year’s Durga Puja will be more than just a religious event; it will be a symbol of peace, goodwill and community bonding.

With careful planning and a spirit of togetherness, the festival promises to create a vibrant and harmonious atmosphere for all.
