2 Jubo League leaders held in Ctg

Police arrested two leaders of the banned political organisation, Jubo League from the Borapul area under Bandar Police Station in Chattogram district on Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Bishwa Raj Dev, 31 and Md Nur Alam, 30.
Earlier, on September 15 at around 10 PM, activists of banned groups, including Chhatra League, Awami League, Jubo League and their affiliates brought out a torch procession at the south side of Borapul intersection on Port Connecting Road.

They were chanting anti-government slogans while carrying sticks, bricks and stones with the intent of creating panic and endangering public safety.

Following investigation, police arrested Bishwa Raj Dev and Nur Alam for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Confirming the incident, Bandar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Aftab Uddin said that the arrested have been charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and produced before the court.
