Model and actress Tangia Zaman Methila has been crowned Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025, winning the prestigious title at a glamorous ceremony held on Thursday night at Aloki Green House at Tejgaon in the capital.
Methila will now represent Bangladesh at the 74th Miss Universe International competition, which is scheduled to take place in Thailand this November.
This victory is particularly special for Methila, as it marks the second time she has won the national title. She was first crowned in 2020 but was unable to compete on the international stage due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, Managing Director of Flora Telecom Ltd and National Director of Miss Universe Bangladesh, highlighted the event's significance, saying, "Miss Universe is not just a beauty pageant; it is a global platform for intelligence, confidence and purpose. We are proud to be able to present Bangladesh on this stage."
In an emotional address, Methila dedicated her victory to her mother. "Everything I am today is because of my mother," she said. "She has always been my strength and inspiration. This achievement is as much hers as it is mine."
Looking ahead to the international competition, she added, "I want to represent Bangladesh with pride. I will try to uphold the country's reputation with dignity, courage, and honour. Please keep me in your prayers."
Previous winners of the Miss Universe Bangladesh title include Shirin Shila in 2019 and Anika Alam in 2024.
