37.46 tonnes of Hilsa exported to India thru Benapole 

Jashore, Sept 17: The first shipment of 37.46 tonnes of Hilsa on Wednesday exported to India through Benapole port on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja.

Out of 37 companies permitted to export the Hilsha, 6 companies have exported the fish on Wednesday through the Benapole Land Port of the country.

On the occasion of Durga Puja, the government has allowed 37 exporters to export 1,200 tonnes of Hilsa to India. The export price per kg of Hilsa is US$ 12.5, similar to Tk 1,525.
Traders say that Hilsa export will increase goodwill with India. However, general buyers say that the price of Hilsa will increase the crisis of the fish in local markets.
