Child killed in Khulna after being hit by e-bike

A child has died after being hit by an e-bike at Khulna Sadar upazila on Wednesday.


The accident occurred around 4:00 PM at South Mohammad Nagar Switchgate area under Labanchara Police Station.


The deceased was identified as Muntajin, 5, son of Saddam Sardar, a resident of Kalabagi village under Dakop upazila in the district.


Confirming the incident, Labanchara Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Hawladar Sanwar Hossain Masum said that an e-bike driver hit the child and left him critically injured at the scene.


Later, locals rescued and rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) where he died around around 7 PM.


Following the incident, locals beat the e-bike driver, Asadul Islam, before handing him over to the police. He is now under treatment at KMCH prison cell.
