Facing a do-or-die situation in Asia Cup, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi.
A win will secure a spot in the Super Four, while a loss would mark the end of their tournament journey.
Bangladesh have made four changes to their playing XI. In the revamped XI, opener Parvez Hossain Emon has been replaced by Saif Hassan, while pacer Taskin Ahmed returns in place of Shoriful Islam.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed comes in for Sheikh Mahedi Hasan and Nurul Hasan Sohan has been added as a batter, replacing pace all-rounder Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
This means Bangladesh are going into the match with two frontline pacers and two specialist spinners. The remaining four overs are likely to be shared between part-time spinners Saif Hassan and Shamim Hossain Patwari.
Earlier in the tournament, Bangladesh started strong with a win over Hong Kong but suffered a heavy defeat against Sri Lanka. Similarly, Afghanistan began their campaign with a dominant win over Hong Kong and will also be eyeing a spot in the Super Four.
