Train hits auto-rickshaw in B'baria; 2 killed

Two individuals were killed after a train hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Sadek Mia, 38, driver of the auto-rickshaw from Kasba upazila, and its passenger Popy Akter, 19, wife of Yeajul Islam.
According to locals, the incident occurred at Manianda level crossing when a Chattogram-bound train from Dhaka hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving two dead on the spot.

Being informed by the locals, police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.

An official from Akhaura Railway Station confirmed the incident.
