2 drown in N’ganj pond

Two children died after drowning in a pond at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman Anis, 7, son of Abul Hossain and Jahidur Rahman Zahed, 5, son of Jahangir Hossain, both are residents of Saizadi village under Haizadi union in the upazila. They both were students of Class I.

According to locals, the duo were playing beside a pond near their house when they accidentally fell into it.

Later, locals rescued them and took them to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Araihazar Upazila Health Complex Resident Medical Officer Ashraful Amin confirmed the death.
