The Department of Environment (DoE), under a special initiative by the Ministry of Environment, has carried out 1,540 mobile court drives across Bangladesh between January 2 and September 11, 2025, resulting in 3,797 cases and fines totaling Tk 26.38 crore (Tk 26,38,26,900).
Key actions taken: 489 illegal brick kilns were permanently shut down with chimneys demolished, 216 kilns received closure orders, Raw bricks from 133 kilns were destroyed, 25 illegal polythene factories sealed and disconnected from utilities, 132 establishments had electricity or other services disconnected for environmental violations, Four individuals were sentenced to jail without parole, Nine truckloads of lead and battery-melting equipment were seized from 13 institutions, all of which were shut down,

Noise pollution control:
Five mobile courts in Narail, Bandarban, Shariatpur, Manikganj, and Chattogram enforced Noise Pollution Control Rules 2006
19 cases filed, Tk 40,000 in fines collected
34 hydraulic horns seized
The Department of Environment said that such drives will continue nationwide to combat pollution and safeguard public health and the environment.
