Mirpur Model Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested six activists affiliated with the banned Awami League and its associated organizations.
The arrested individuals have been identified as: Md. Jewel Rana, 35, President of Sujanagar Municipal Jubo League, Pabna, Al Noman Saif, 29, Chhatra League activist and AGS of Islamia College, Chattogram, Md. Julhas, 26, Jubo League activist, Chattogram district, Imon Hossain Khan Manik, 25, Chhatra League activist, Md. Sagar Hossain, 27, Awami League activist, Md. Ohidul Islam Sumon, 33, Awami League activist
The arrests were confirmed on Friday (September 12) by DMP's Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations, Mohammad Talebur Rahman.
According to the police, on Thursday (September 11) afternoon, authorities received a tip-off that several members of the banned Awami League and Chhatra League had gathered near Gate No. 1 of the Paikpara D-Type Staff Quarters, wearing masks, chanting anti-government slogans, and allegedly planning acts of sabotage.
