The namaz-e-janaza of Jannatul Ferdous, an assistant professor at Jahangirnagar University who died while on election duty, will be held after Friday’s Jumma prayers in front of the university’s Central Mosque.

This was confirmed by Associate Professor Shamim Reza, president of the Department of Fine Arts.

Jannatul Ferdous had been serving as a polling officer during the ongoing Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall union elections. She collapsed suddenly around 9 a.m. on Friday at the Election Commission office on campus and was rushed to Savar Enam Medical College and Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The location of her burial has yet to be decided.

Jannatul completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in 2016 and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2018 from Jahangirnagar University’s Department of Fine Arts. Her academic interests included painting, Muslim art, and art history.
