Despite a sweeping victory in Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election, Islami Chhatra Shibir president Zahidul Islam has called on supporters to refrain from holding victory rallies.

In a Facebook post published on Wednesday morning (10 September), shortly after the official announcement of the DUCSU results, Shibir president made the appeal.

He wrote, "Alhamdulillah. Allah is Great. At last, the students of Dhaka University have triumphed.

We will not hold any rallies anywhere in the country. Instead, we will express our gratitude to the Almighty through Sejdah (prostration). This victory is a divine blessing. We will not be arrogant; rather, we will remain humble and respectful toward all.

We are travelers on the path to building a dream campus, and we will not stop. Our beloved motherland will be a Bangladesh for everyone."
