No power in world can stop Feb polls: CA's Press Secy

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said the 13th National Parliament elections will be held in the first half of February. No power in the world can stop the elections.

He said this at a press conference at the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Sunday, quoting the Chief Adviser.

The Press Secretary remarked that Chief Adviser has directed the local administration to be active in controlling the law and order situation across the country in order to make the upcoming elections free, fair and impartial. 

Steps have been taken to ensure that security is not disrupted during the elections. He said that strict legal action will be taken against sudden processions and illegal gatherings during this time.

Regarding Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections, he said that Chief Adviser has also instructed that the DUCSU elections should be held in a festive atmosphere.

Regarding the upcoming Durga Puja, he said, the Chief Adviser has instructed that Durga Puja should be held without any hindrance and security should be taken in advance. To maintain communal harmony, Ministry of Religion has been instructed to maintain contact with all religious leaders.

Shafiqul Alam called, the defeated forces have become reckless. They are taking to the field with all their might to destroy the overall peace and order, which is a question of overall security.
