Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan met Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday.
The courtesy meeting and exchange of views took place at the Jamaat Ameer's office in Bashundhara.
At the outset, the Palestinian envoy inquired about Dr Shafiqur Rahman's health and prayed for his full recovery.
Speaking on the Palestine issue, Jamaat Ameer said, "Like the global Muslim Ummah, we share a deep bond with Palestine, and this relationship will remain unbroken, InshaAllah. For decades, the oppressed Palestinians have been subjected to relentless Israeli brutality. In the past two years alone, over 65,000 Palestinians, including women and children, have been martyred by Israeli bombardment, while nearly 170,000 have been seriously injured."
He also said, "Israel, the enemy of humanity, has blocked food supplies into Gaza, causing famine. Thousands, including children, are dying from starvation. Recently, Israel openly declared plans to occupy Gaza and forcibly displace nearly one million Palestinians. This blueprint of aggression is a blatant violation of international law, human rights, and justice. Such occupation poses not only a grave threat to Palestine but also to global peace, stability, and humanity. We call upon the UN, OIC, and the peace-loving world to compel Israel to immediately halt this destructive plan."
