A student innovation team from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), known as Team Crack Platoon, is currently in Japan to represent not only their university but entire South Asian region at prestigious Formula SAE Japan 2025 competition.
The event is scheduled to take place from September 8 to 13 at Aichi Sky Expo, with Team Crack Platoon being the sole representative from South Asia.
This year, the team is competing with their newly developed electric vehicle prototype named CP–Astrion, which features advanced battery technology, a lightweight composite body and aerodynamic wings.
Notably, global electric vehicle giant Tesla has sponsored the project by providing cutting-edge battery technology.
RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdur Razzak congratulated the team in an official statement, saying, “RUET has always fostered innovation and research. Our students continue to leave their mark not just nationally, but globally. Sending Team Crack Platoon to the international stage is a proud moment for us. Their creativity and innovation will contribute to global progress and shine a light on both RUET and Bangladesh.”
Team Crack Platoon has a strong track record in international competitions.
They previously participated in events such as Quad Bike Challenge (2016), Formula SAE Japan (2017, 2019), Formula SAE Switzerland (2023) and Formula Bharat (2024), earning recognition for their excellence in innovation and engineering.
