The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), was observed with due religious solemnity and state honour in the district like elsewhere in the country.
Marking the day, Manikganj District Administration with the assistance of Islamic Foundation, Manikganj organised different programmes, including discussion meeting, Dua-Mahfil and distribution of cheques, on Saturday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General and Revenuew) Mohammad Ali addressed the discussion as the chief guest.
The Deputy Director (DD) of Islamic Foundation, Manikganj, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, former District Education Officer, Md Abul Monnaf Khan, former DD of Islamic Foundation, Md. Akram Hossain, its officials and the devotees of different mosques were present, among others.
The speakers said all Muslims have to follow the life and ideology of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to be a real Muslim like his followers.
Special prayer was held at different mosques for seeking the divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah following a discussion.
Later, cheques, allocated by the Islamic Foundation, were distributed among the selected poor and distressed people of the district.
