The body of a teenager has been recovered from a taro field at Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district.
The incident occurred at Purbo Borali village in the upazila on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Saimun, 13, son of Rafiqul Islam, a farmer from the same area.
According to locals, Saimun left home to collect taro stalks. When he didn't return, his family started searching for him. In the evening, they found his body lying in a taro field near the house. Later, they moved the body from the scene to their home.
A relative of the deceased said that Saimun was bitten by a rabid dog about a month ago.
Confirming the matter, Faridganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Alam said that legal action is in the process.
