Dengue death toll rises to 125, 473 hospitalised

Bangladesh reported three more dengue deaths in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, raising this year’s toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 125, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest fatalities were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka Division (outside city areas), and Chattogram Division (outside city areas).

During the reporting period, 473 new patients were admitted to hospitals, bringing the total number of cases in 2025 to 32,501. Currently, 1,563 patients are undergoing treatment nationwide.

As per the regular data of DGHS, new cases were reported as follows: 113 in Barishal Division (Out of CC), 81 in Chattogram Division (Out of CC), 76 in Dhaka Division (Out of CC), 53 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 83 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 48 in Rajshahi (Out of CC), 7 in Rangpur Division (Out of CC), 10 in Mymensingh (Out of CC), and two in Sylhet division (Out of CC).

As of now, 1,563 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.

According to the DGHS, there were 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries in the same year.
