Dengue death toll has climbed to 122 with four more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 568 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same 24-hour period, pushing the total number of reported cases in 2025 to 31,476, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest fatalities were reported from the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), which remains one of the worst-affected areas.

Regional data from DGHS shows the spread of new infections across various parts of the country. Outside city corporation areas, 110 new cases were recorded in Barishal Division, 93 in Chattogram Division, 39 in Rajshahi, 42 in Khulna Division, 16 in Mymensingh, 114 in Dhaka Division and three in Sylhet.

Within the capital, 67 new cases were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and 82 in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Currently, 1,486 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals nationwide. The situation remains under close watch, especially considering the country’s experience last year, when dengue claimed 575 lives.

In 2024, Bangladesh reported a total of 101,214 cases, with 100,040 recoveries.

Health authorities continue to urge the public to remain cautious and to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, especially during the ongoing monsoon season, when the risk of dengue transmission remains high.
