The Bangladesh Wushu Federation (BWUF) hosted the Anti-Doping Awareness and Sports Medicine Seminar 2025 at the Bangladesh Olympic Association Auditorium on Saturday, bringing together athletes, officials, and experts in a spirited call for clean sport and athlete welfare.
Aminul Ehsan, Director (Sports) of the National Sports Council (NSC), inaugurated the programme as the Chief Guest of the opening session. In the audience were 90 athletes, each representing the future of Bangladesh sport and its collective aspiration for integrity on and off the field.
Dr Md Shafiqul Rahman led the session on Anti-Doping awareness, underscoring the dangers of performance-enhancing substances and reminding athletes that wins built on unfair advantage is no victory at all. His lecture drew upon global Anti-Doping regulations while emphasising personal responsibility. Following him, Dr Farzana Akhter Bhuiyan addressed sports medicine, focusing on the science of conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery, the often unseen battles that shape champions.
The seminar reached its closing stages with Brigadier General (Retd) A B M Shefayul Kabir, Director General of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, presiding as Chief Guest of the closing session.
The event was chaired by Major General A S M Ridwanur Rahman, President of the Federation, while the welcome address was delivered by Shifu Dildar Hasan Dilu, Founder General Secretary.
In a gesture of recognition, participants were awarded T-shirts and certificates, symbolising both their commitment to clean sport and the federation's drive to cultivate professionalism.
The BWUF hailed the seminar as a timely reminder that true sporting glory is not merely about medals but about fairness, health, and discipline.
