Shukharanjan files complaint against Hasina, 31 others

Shukharanjan Bali, a key defence witness for late Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee, who was allegedly abducted from the main gate of ICT, on Thursday filed a written complaint accusing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 31 others of enforced disappearance, abduction, torture, and illegal transfer to India.

Bali, submitted the allegations to the office of the ICT chief prosecutor on Thursday morning.

It was alleged in the complaint that Bali was abducted from the main gate of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) before he came to testify in the crimes against humanity case against Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee in November, 2012 after refusing to give false testimony against Sayedee. He came to the ICT to testify as a defence witness from where he was abducted and became a victim of enforced disappearance.

The other accused in the allegations included former chief justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, former chairmen of ICT-1 Justice Nizamul Haque and Justice ATM Fazle Kabir, former law minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, former state minister for law Advocate Qamrul Islam, former ICT chief prosecutor Syed Haider Ali, former prosecutor Rana Das Gupta, former coordinator of the ICT investigation agency Md Sanaul Haque, former ICT investigation officer Helal Uddin, and former lawmaker of Pirojpur-1 constituency AKM Abdul Awal.
