Child drowns in Khulna pond

A child died after drowning in a pond at Fultola upazila in Khulna district on early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Md Yasin Morol, 4, son of Al Amin Morol of Patkelghata area in the district.

According to locals, Yasin came to his grandfathers home with his mother a few days ago. He fell into a nearby pond while going to washroom on Friday morning.

Later, family found him floating on the pond, rescued him and took to Fultola Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Fultola Union Parishad (UP) member Abdul Kuddus confirmed the incident.
