Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan reiterated his earnest desire to play in the national team, saying that he puts national commitment ahead of any other duty.

Having said that, he cleared the air by revealing that he went to the Global T20 league, only after being dropped from the national team.

His comment came in the wake of the rumours that was rife that he chose Global T20 league ahead of the national team.
"I want to make it clear that the Global T20 was never my first priority," Sohan said on Wednesday. "The fact is not that I was not in the national team because of the Global T20. I was at the camp in Chattogram."

He said after being left out of the national team, he decided to utilize the time by playing in any league rather than sitting idle at home.

"When I was dropped from the Sri Lanka series, I had nothing on my schedule," he said.

"So I had made the decision of playing in any league rather than sitting idle at home. I thought it would be better to play in the Global T20. That's when I started thinking about it," he added.     "BSS
