State-appointed lawyer Md. Amir Hossain, representing Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, alleged that the video footage of Abu Sayeed’s killing was created using artificial intelligence (AI).

The witness, however, denied the claim.

The statement came on the third day of witness testimonies in war crimes case concerning atrocities committed during the July-August movement.

The trial is being held at International Crimes Tribunal-1, where three accused—including former Prime minister Sheikh Hasina—are facing charges of crimes against humanity.

On Wednesday, two eyewitnesses appeared before the tribunal and gave their statements.

Rina Murmu, a student at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and AKM Moinul Haque, NTV’s Rangpur correspondent, described the events before and after the killing of Abu Sayeed on July 16 last year.

Following their testimonies, lawyer Md. Amir Hossain conducted the cross-examination.

It was during the questioning of journalist Moinul Haque that the lawyer raised the controversial claim about the video footage.

The witnesses have so far presented detailed accounts of the incidents and five witnesses have testified in the case to date.

The tribunal has scheduled the next session for August 17.
