Child drowns in Pabna river

A minor child drowned in the Baral river in Pabna's Chatmohar upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 1 pm at Jaleshwar village under Gunaigachha union of the upazila.

The dead Jui Khatun, 2, was a daughter of Jewel Hossain of that village.

According to locals, the child fell down into the river next to their house while playing near its bank. She was later rescued and taken to the upazila healthe complex where doctors declared her dead.

Gunaigachha UP ex-chairman Golam Maula confirmed it.
