Madrasah student dies from snakebite in Naogaon

A 12-year-old madrasah student died from a snakebite at Madinatul Ulum Shishu Sadan Qawmi Madrasa in Sapahar upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sadat, son of Sarafat Ali of Islampurganj village under Gomsthapur upazila in Chapainawabganj. He was a student of the Maktab department of the madrasah.

Acting headmaster Abdur Rakib said the incident occurred around 12:30 am while Sadat was sleeping on the floor with other students. He was initially given local treatment after the snakebite.

As his condition worsened, he was rushed to Sapahar Upazila Health Complex, where he died during treatment around 2:00 AM.
