Organized by the ESG Institute Bangladesh, the ESG Bootcamp 2025 was held with the aim of corporate transformation through Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. Recently, at Six Season hotel in Dhaka, ESG Institute Bangladesh conducted a training program that brought together top executives, including C-suite executives, senior directors, and departmental heads from various leading multinational organizations in the country.
Organized in partnership with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh (UN-GCNB), and Swisscontact Bangladesh, and with the support of PRAN-RFL Group, ACI Logistics, and Grameen Danone, the event allowed participants to discuss and exchange views on the present and future prospects of ESG and sustainable development in Bangladesh.
The bootcamp was inaugurated by Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director of ESG Institute Bangladesh. The chief guest at the event was Chowdhury Liaqat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank. Other notable attendees included Kamran Bakr, Founder of Pro-for-Pro and former Chairman of Unilever Bangladesh, Joanne Flinn, Chairperson of ESG Institute Singapore, and Sadia Samira, Chairperson of ESG Institute Bangladesh.
Speaking on how Bangladesh can become the next ESG destination, Joanne Flinn, Chairperson of ESG Institute Singapore, said, "Bangladesh is now gaining recognition in ESG. With a young population, a strong private sector, and continued policy progress, I am optimistic that the country will lead sustainable development in Asia."
Chief guest Chowdhury Liaqat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank, remarked, "This ESG-centered initiative marks a new chapter for Bangladesh. I firmly believe that by working together, financial and business institutions can pave the way for a more responsible and sustainable future. "
This bootcamp is being considered a significant step for the corporate sector's adoption of ESG in Bangladesh. In line with green, responsible, and global sustainable goals, this event stands as a bright testament to Bangladesh's ongoing journey towards sustainability.
