Bangladesh U19 storm into tri-series final with dominant win over Zimbabwe

Bangladesh Under-19 team secured their spot in the final of the tri-nation series with a commanding eight-wicket win over hosts Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on Friday.

With this win—Bangladesh’s third in the group stage—they will face South Africa in the final on August 10. 

Zimbabwe, meanwhile, remain winless after four matches.

Opting to bowl first, Bangladesh dismantled Zimbabwe for a paltry 89 in just 22.3 overs. Nathaniel Halbangana top-scored with 26, while Brandon Ndiweni added 20.

Pacer Iqbal Hossain Emon led the bowling attack with a brilliant 4-27, supported by Sanjid Mojumder, who took 2-26.

In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target in just 15.1 overs, finishing at 91-2. Skipper Azizul Hakim anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47, while Rizan Hossain contributed 21 not out.

Before the final, the teams will play two more round-robin matches, although the finalists—Bangladesh and South Africa—have already been confirmed.
