Thousands of people suffer due to 3-kilometer road in Chandina

Dear Sir,

A 3-kilometer road stretching from the west side of Badarpur Bazar to the west side of the Department Tubewell in Comilla's Chandina Upazila has long been in a state of disrepair, causing daily suffering for thousands of residents. Villagers from Mehar, Badarpur, Rasul Pur, Gazaria, and nearby areas depend on this road to reach Chandina town, markets, and educational institutions. Students, farmers, fish traders, and pedestrians-especially motorcycle riders-face immense hardship using this damaged road.

The situation worsens with even slight rainfall, turning the road muddy and waterlogged. Potholes, broken sections, and diversions through fish enclosures make travel risky and slow. Local fish farmers, who rely on the road to transport their produce, are incurring significant financial losses due to frequent delays and damage during transport.

Despite repeated appeals by residents to public representatives and the administration, no effective, long-term action has been taken. While a few segments were bricked, many parts remain unusable. This ongoing negligence has fueled frustration and resentment among locals.

We urge the concerned authorities to take immediate steps under the government's development plan to repair and pave this road. Swift action is essential to restore connectivity and ease public suffering in this important rural area.
