BNP walks out of consensus commission meeting

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has walked out of the 20th session meeting of the National Consensus Commission.

The 20th session of the second-round dialogue began at 11AM on Monday. But suddenly around 11:30AM, the BNP leaders walked out of the session.

Before the walkout, the party standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said his party will not take part in the discussion regarding the proposed provisions for appointing members of the Public Service Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General and Ombudsman.

However, they joined the talks at 12:16PM.

Vice Chair of the commission Prof Ali Riaz placed the proposal for discussion after 11:30AM. Then Salahuddin Ahmed announced that BNP would refrain from participating in the talks on this specific issue.
