Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj delivered sharp criticism of Awami League during commemorative event marking 100th birth anniversary of Bangladesh's first Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad.

On Saturday, 12 individuals received recognition at Bangla Academy gathering featuring prominent speakers addressing audience beneath portrait of independence leader.

Sohel Taj challenged Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus to prioritise authentic Liberation War history over narratives centred on "some family or persons."

He questioned moral justification for supporting Awami League, stating: "Why should man with morality support Awami League now? Reconciliation process needs to acknowledge their wrongdoing for last 15 years."

Son of martyred leader outlined conditions for considering party leadership: accountability for murders, disappearances and killings, plus complete organisational cleansing. He emphasised father's defining characteristic of maintaining identical principles in personal and public spheres, lamenting politicians' compromised morality causing current chaos.

Daughter Sharmin Ahmad highlighted Tajuddin's organisational brilliance during 1971 non-cooperation movement despite facing obstacles from own people and Indian intelligence. She recalled father's airport warning about corruption requiring uprooting from within, suggesting current Awami League predicament could have been avoided.

Previously, they presented Sharmin's book "Tajuddin Ahmad: Neta O Pita" during courtesy call on Chief Adviser at State Guest House Jamuna, demanding state recognition for four national leaders and observance of "Jail Killing Day" as official commemoration.
