BNP Standing Committee Member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will never be able to return to power in Bangladesh—not even until the end of time.

He made the remark while speaking to journalists on Sunday (July 20) at a programme held at the residence of BNP Central Executive Committee's Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu in Damla village under Sreenagar upazila of Munshiganj district.

“Jamaat’s current demands are aimed at disrupting the electoral process,” Goyeshwar said.

“They cannot accept that BNP might come to power if the Awami League is out of the picture. I firmly believe Jamaat has no chance of ever returning to state power in Bangladesh.”

He further added, “Jamaat exists in countries like India and Pakistan as well. That’s why they refuse to listen to the voice of the people and are only focused on serving their own interests.”

Among others, BNP Joint Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Munshiganj District BNP Convening Committee Members Awlad Hossain Uzzal and Jasim Molla, Sreenagar Union Parishad Chairman Tajul Islam, BNP leader Nuruzzaman Shikdar, and Mahmud Hasan Fahad, Organizational Secretary of the District Women and Child Rights Forum, were present on the occasion.
