The joint forces have arrested three alleged drug peddlers from Rampal upazila in Bagerhat district on Friday night.
The arrested were identified as Baizid Hassan Rabbi, 22 of Adaghat village, Rabiul Islam Raju, 34 and Morsalin Sheikh, 23 of the same village.
Acting on a tip-off, joint forces raided a house at Adaghat village in the upazila and arrested three drug peddlers with 22 grams of heroin and cash nearly Tk 2 lakh from their possessions.
They also seized four android phones, a button mobile set, a weighing machine, a blank page of cheque book, one Yamaha motorcycle, 1000 pieces of forged currency and one pair of ear ring from their possessions.
Bangladesh Army 42 field artillery regiment’s Rampal camp commander Major Imrul Kayes confirmed the incident and said that the arrested persons were later handed over to Rampal Police Station along with seized items.
A case has been filed with Rampal Police under Narcotics Control Act in connection with this incident, added the commander.
