US President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with a chronic but non-threatening vein condition following a medical evaluation prompted by swelling in his legs, the White House announced Thursday.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the 79-year-old former president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which damaged veins in the legs impair proper blood flow. Leavitt described it as a “benign and common condition.”
Addressing public speculation sparked by recent photos showing bruising on Trump's hand, Leavitt explained that the marks were “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

The White House emphasized that the condition is not serious and poses no immediate health concerns.
