CVASU family pays tribute to martyrs of July uprising

Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) community paid tribute to the martyrs of the July Uprising by placing wreaths at the university’s central Shaheed Minar.

On Tuesday, CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman honoured the martyrs by laying flowers at Shaheed Minar on behalf of the university family.

Following the tribute, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman urged the government to restore democracy through timely national elections.

"If we are to fulfill the purpose for which the martyrs of July Uprising gave their lives, we must hold elections immediately and restore democracy. I call on the current government to initiate necessary reforms and arrange elections as soon as possible to restore the people's right to vote," he said.

Also present at the event were Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Alam, Proctor Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, along with other faculty members, officials, students and staff of the university.
