Madrasa girl dies from snakebite in Magura

A madrasa student died from snakebite in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura District early Monday. 

The incident took place in Datiadah Village under the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Jakia Lamima, 13, daughter of Mamun Sheikh of the village and a seventh grader at Babukhali Adarsha Dakhil Madrasa.

According to local sources, a venomous snake bit her while she was sleeping at around 12 am, which left her injured.

The family members rescued her, but she died on the way to Magura 250-bed Sadar Hospital at around 12:30 am.

Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station Md Abdur Rahman confirmed the incident.
