As part of the ongoing month-long July revival programme commemorating the anniversary of the July Uprising, a series of cultural events including a film screening, musical performances, and a drone show will take place today (Monday) at 6 pm at the Central Shaheed Minar premises in Dhaka.
The Ministry of Cultural Affairs is organizing the event, which will begin with the national anthem, followed by the screening of a special TV commercial produced by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, highlighting the sacrifices of martyred women in July.
Several short films—You Failed to Kill Abrar Fahad, July Women, and July Bishad Sindhu—produced by the Cultural Affairs Ministry, will be screened during the programme, BSS reports.
The evening will also feature tributes to the female martyrs and fighters of the July Uprising, with special remembrances of the women from martyr families.
Performances by noted artistes including Sayan, Parsa Mahzabin, and Elita Karim, along with music bands Ella La La, F Minor, and Samageet, will bring July-themed songs to life.
A drone show based on the July Uprising and its Prelude will follow, portraying scenes of resistance and remembrance. The event will conclude with symbolic echoes of the "roar of resistance" of the July girls, resonating from various halls of Dhaka University.
The organisers have called for the special participation of women from all walks of life—particularly students and teachers from schools, colleges, and public and private universities.
