Train communication between Dhaka and the northern parts of the country was suspended for about an hour on Monday morning after a goods-laden truck broke down on a railway track in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur.

According to Abul Khayer Chowdhury, Station Master of Joydebpur Railway Junction, the disruption occurred around 9am when the truck got stuck at the Sonakhali Rail Crossing, bringing train movement to a halt.
As a result, at least three trains, including the Dhaka-bound Sirajganj Express, were delayed and left stranded on the track.

Efforts were underway to remove the truck and restore normal train operations, the station master added.
