JCD activists allegedly assault 3 BDSC leaders, 2 JnU teachers 

Three leaders of the Bangladesh Democratic Student Council (BDSC) including two faculty members of Jagannath University (JnU) were allegedly assaulted by activists of the university's Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) unit on Thursday (July 10).
The incident took place around 4:30PM at the Shaheed Sajid Building on the campus.

According to eyewitnesses, Rafique Bin Sadek Resad, a fourth-year student of the Management Department, was accused of having ties to the JCD. The activists reportedly detained him earlier in the day and later physically assaulted him. When Dr. A.K.M. Rifat Hasan, the university's Student Welfare Adviser, and Assistant Proctor Shafiqul Islam intervened to protect the student, they too, were subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault.

Soon after, JCD members allegedly targeted three key leaders of the BDSC JnU unit, President Md. Faisal Murad, Chief Organiser Ferdous Hasan, and Joint Convener Faruk, branding them as Bangladesh Chhatra League cohorts and physically attacking them. The victims were later admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Md. Faisal Murad, Convener of JnU BDSC, stated, "The attack on Joint Convener Faruk was led by JCD Joint Convener Mahmudul Hasan and member secretary Shamsul Arefin. I tried to intervene, explaining that Faruk was a frontline activist of the July Uprising and had sustained a serious head injury during the July 19 protest. Despite my plea, they continued beating him."
