Subrata Bain on remand over Jubo Dal leader murder

A Dhaka court has granted a seven-day remand for Subrata Bain alias Fateh Ali in connection with the murder of Jubo Dal leader Md Arif Sikder.

On Wednesday (July 9), Bain was produced before the court, where the investigation officer, Inspector Mohammad Mazharul Islam, sought a 10-day remand. After hearing both prosecution and defence arguments, Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abdul Wahab approved a 7-day remand.
Arif Sikder, former assistant sports secretary of the Jubo Dal's Dhaka North unit (Ward 36), was shot on the night of April 19 in front of "The Jhil Cafe" in the Nayatola area of Hatirjheel. He died two days later while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
