Police used water cannons and hurled sound grenades to disperse dismissed Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) members who blocked Kakrail Mosque intersection to press home their three-point demands.

The protestors gathered in front of the Kakrail Mosque on Monday morning. As they attempted to march towards Jamuna, the residence of the Chief Adviser, police barred them.To disperse the protesters, police used crowd-control measures like water cannons and sound grenades.

At one stage, traffic movement in the area came to a halt.
They are protesting for reinstatement, legal support and financial compensation, claiming they were unfairly treated in the aftermath of the 2009 mutiny.
