Teen killed in Jashore lightning strike

A teen died after being struck by lightning at Jashore Sadar Upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mishkat Rahman Sultan, 12, son of Rasel Hossain of Kamarganya village in the upazila. Mishkat was a Class VI student of Icchali Secondary School.

According to locals, Mishkat went to Kamarganya Govt. Primary School’s field for playing football with his friends.
 
Suddenly lightning struck Mishkat when rain started at 10:30 AM.

Later, locals rescued him and took to Jashore General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Jashore General Hospital emergency medical officer Jubaida Afsana confirmed the incident.
