Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has approved a budget of Tk 388.29 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, reflecting a 7.71 percent rise from the previous year, according to the BAU administration.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday, Mohammad Toufiqul Islam, Acting Director of BAU's Public Relations and Publications Office, stated that although the proposed demand budget for FY 2025-26 stood at about Tk 4,58.27 crore, the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved a ceiling of Tk 3,88.29 crore. Consequently, the university revised and recast the budget to align with the UGC-approved ceiling.
The final budget was approved during a Syndicate meeting held on June 30, chaired by BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan. During the meeting, Treasurer (in-charge) Prof. Dr. Humayun Kabir presented the revised recast budget for FY 2024-25 and the original budget for FY 2025-26.
