Actor AK Qureshi passes away

Actor AK Qureshi has passed away at the age of 80. He breathed his last on January 10 at the Vincent Hospital of Los Angeles, US. He had been living in US with family for quite some time. Qureshi was born on May 8 in 1937. In his career he spent a notable amount of time as a senior official of the Film Department of Bangladesh Television during its very beginning days, reports Bangla Tribune. He is also known as a sound recorder. But his prominence was laid in side roles played in films. He has often played the fatherly figure of law and order in films. For example the roles of Judge and Police Officers were played by him often. He acted in Chittagong: The Last Stopover (2000), Ononto Bhalobasa (1999) and Keyamot Theke Keyamot (1993). He was also seen on two episode of American thriller "X-Files."
