At least 17 people were injured in Israel following the latest missile attack launched by Iran, according to Magen David Adom (MDA), the country’s emergency medical service.
Of the injured, three are reported to be in critical condition, Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported.
Earlier, French news agency AFP initially reported—citing an MDA statement—that two people were injured. Among them, a 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition, suffering upper body injuries. The other victim, a 54-year-old man, sustained injuries to his lower leg but is not in serious condition.
Al Jazeera’s report further stated that a 14-year-old boy was also critically injured. However, MDA did not disclose the exact locations where the victims were at the time of the attack or where the missiles struck. Israeli authorities have also not released details regarding the impact zones of the Iranian missiles.
According to a statement by the Israeli military, sirens were sounded across various parts of the country shortly after the missiles were detected coming from Iran. Israel’s air defense systems were activated in response, and citizens were advised to take shelter in designated safe zones.
Meanwhile, a video circulating on social media shows what appears to be an Iranian missile striking the northern Israeli city of Haifa. The video was said to have been recorded recently, but no official confirmation has yet been provided regarding its authenticity.
This latest escalation adds to growing international concern as tensions between Iran and Israel continue to intensify.
