Police have recovered the hanging body of an HSC examinee from his bedroom at Boalkhali upazila in Chittagong district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Injamul Haque Babu, 18, son of Nurul Haque from Ward No. 6 of Popadia union in the upazila.
He was an HSC candidate this year from Kuwaish Burishchar Sheikh Mohammad City Corporation College in the city.
According to family members, Babu went to sleep in his bedroom around 12:00 AM on Thursday after having dinner.
On Friday morning at 6:30 AM, his mother, Jakia Begum, went to call him to turn off the AC (air conditioner).
After repeated calls yielded no response and the door remained closed, she broke the door lock with an axe and found his body hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope around his neck.
Confirming the death, Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Injamul Golam Sarwar said that an unnatural death case has been filed and the body has been sent to the Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
