Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France and its European allies will soon present a diplomatic roadmap to Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Speaking to journalists in Le Bourget, near Paris, President Macron emphasized the urgency of restoring regional stability and urged Tehran to rejoin diplomatic discussions.
“Iran must show its willingness to return to the negotiation table,” Macron stated, referencing recent diplomatic talks with Iran held in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to Macron, the proposed plan will focus on four central objectives:
1. Resumption of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to achieve complete cessation of uranium enrichment;
2. International oversight of Iran’s ballistic missile program;
3. Termination of Iranian funding to proxy armed groups operating in the region;
4. Release of all foreign nationals currently detained in Iranian prisons.
The French President noted that the proposal will be shared with Iranian officials in the coming days as part of Europe’s broader effort to prevent further escalation and promote dialogue in the region.
Diplomats view this initiative as a potential turning point in de-escalating hostilities and restoring diplomatic channels.
