Six new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Chattogram in the past 24 hours, although no new deaths have occurred, according to a statement from Chattogram Civil Surgeon’s Office on Thursday.
With these new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Chattogram district has risen to 50.
According to Civil Surgeon’s Office, eight samples were tested in various laboratories across the city.
Among them, one case was detected at Chattogram Medical College Lab, two at Chevron Diagnostic Center, one at Metropolitan Hospital and two at Evercare Hospital.
The updated data shows that among the 50 confirmed cases, 26 are men, 23 are women and one is a child.
Of the infected individuals, 43 are city residents while 7 are from upazilas. So far, one COVID-19-related death has been reported in the district.
Health officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and continue following health guidelines, as the virus is still present in the community, albeit at a low rate.
